Privacy & cookies.
How we handle personal data submitted through this website, and what we use cookies for. Plain English, no surprises.

Who we are
This website is operated by Alpha Fire Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is Main Street, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S44 6JF. For any privacy-related question or request, contact us at info@alphafanda.co.uk or 01709 961030.
For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, Alpha Fire Limited is the data controller for personal data collected through this site.
What we collect
We only collect personal data that you choose to give us. In practice, that means information you submit through our contact form or by emailing or phoning us directly — typically your name, company, email address, phone number, and the details of your enquiry.
We do not run third-party advertising, retargeting pixels, or behavioural tracking on this site. We do not buy or sell contact lists.
Why we collect it, and our lawful basis
We use the information you give us solely to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotations or surveys, and (where relevant) carry out the work you've asked us to do.
Our lawful basis under UK GDPR Article 6 is one of the following, depending on the situation:
- Legitimate interests — replying to an unsolicited enquiry from a prospective client or specifier.
- Steps prior to entering a contract — preparing a quotation, scoping a survey, or responding to a tender invitation.
- Performance of a contract — delivering work to an existing client.
- Legal obligation — record-keeping and golden-thread documentation required under the Building Safety Act 2022 and related construction legislation.
How long we keep it
If your enquiry doesn't lead to a project, we keep your contact details for up to 24 months in case you come back to us, then delete them. If we do work together, project-related records are retained for the periods required by our insurers, our accreditation bodies, and applicable construction and building safety legislation — typically a minimum of 6 years from project completion, longer for higher-risk buildings.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent personal data to anyone. We share it only where necessary to deliver our work or meet our legal duties — for example with our IT and email providers (who process data on our behalf under written agreements), our accountants, our insurers, and where required, our regulators or accreditation auditors. On live projects we may also share relevant information with the main contractor, principal designer or building owner you've asked us to work with.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong or out of date.
- Ask us to delete your data, where there's no overriding legal reason to keep it.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain uses of your data.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we're relying on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@alphafanda.co.uk. We'll respond within one month. If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk — but please try us first.
Cookies
This site is deliberately light on cookies. We don't use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking cookies. The only cookies that may be set are strictly necessary ones — for example, those used by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) to keep the site secure and performing properly. Strictly necessary cookies don't require your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
If we add analytics or any other non-essential cookies in future, we'll update this page and ask for your consent before any of them are set.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Doing so won't affect your ability to use this site.
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data we hold — including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls on our systems, and ongoing staff training. No system is ever 100% secure, but we treat the data you trust us with seriously.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time — for example if we change the tools we use, or in response to a change in the law. The date at the top of the page tells you when it was last revised. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for a reasonable period after they go live.
