Who We Are

A specialist, not a generalist.

Alpha Fire exists to deliver one thing well: passive fire protection. We are not a general contractor with a PFP sideline — every operative on site is trained and accredited in the discipline they are installing.

Collectively, our team brings over 90 years of combined industry experience. That accumulated knowledge shapes every method statement, every system selection and every piece of advice we give. Problems that look novel to others are usually ones we have resolved before.

That depth of specialism is why main contractors return to us — from hyperscale data centre campuses to single-day heritage interventions. Scale varies. Rigour doesn't. We operate nationwide from our base in the East Midlands.

Our People

Trained, qualified, accredited.

Every operative who works under the Alpha Fire banner is formally trained and assessed in passive fire protection. That is not a box-ticking statement — it is a commercial decision. Untrained installation invalidates the systems we specify. Compliance only holds if the people doing the work understand why every detail matters.

We invest continuously in qualification and keep our certification current across the whole team, from site operatives to management. When you request method statements, qualification records or operative cards, we provide them without delay.

  • NVQ Level 2 & Level 3 — Passive Fire Protection Industry-standard vocational qualifications held by our installation operatives and supervisors, covering fire stopping, compartmentation and intumescent works in line with current British Standards.
  • SMSTS — Site Management Safety Training Scheme Our site managers hold CITB SMSTS certification, demonstrating competence in health, safety, environment and welfare management across all project types and site conditions.
  • SSSTS — Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme Site supervisors hold SSSTS certification, ensuring team-level accountability for safe working practices and compliance with site rules on every project we deliver.
  • 90+ Years Combined Industry Experience Our team has worked across every construction type — from new-build hyperscale data centres to remediation in occupied heritage buildings. That accumulated experience shortens the problem-solving loop on every project.
How We Work

Four principles, applied to every project.

01 / 04

Specialism over breadth

Passive fire protection and adjacent steel protection works. Nothing else. That depth of knowledge is what lets us solve the hard problems.

02 / 04

Evidence over assurances

Every application recorded, every measurement logged, every system photographed. The Golden Thread is how we've always worked.

03 / 04

Relationships over transactions

Most of our work comes from clients we've already delivered for. Repeat trade is the clearest measure of whether the approach is working.

04 / 04

Honest advice

If we're not the right team, we'll say so. If a specification can be simplified without compromising performance, we'll suggest it.

The Golden Thread

Documentation as a deliverable.

The Golden Thread is the continuous, unbroken record that links what was specified to what was installed — and proves both to whoever asks. Since the Building Safety Act 2022, maintaining that record is a legal requirement for higher-risk buildings. We have been working this way from the start.

On every project, we produce a completion document that includes product data sheets, penetration schedules, photographic evidence of each application, DFT readings and any third-party inspection records. It follows the building for its entire life.

  • Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 Full compliance built into every specification, survey and installation from day one.
  • Building Safety Act 2022 Golden Thread documentation produced as a named completion deliverable, structured to support the building safety case.
  • Third-party certified systems only Every system we install is independently tested and certified. No substitutions are made without written confirmation against the certified detail.
  • IFC / KIWA Third-Party Accreditation — Nr 3039 Our installation quality is independently audited under IFC Certification (KIWA) accreditation Nr 3039, providing clients with verifiable third-party assurance over and above self-certification.
Certifications & Memberships

Independent assurance, across every scheme that matters.

We maintain third-party accreditation with the industry's leading certification bodies. These are not box-tick exercises — each scheme involves independent audits, site visits and annual re-assessment of our quality management, health and safety, and financial standing.

IFC Certification (KIWA)
Cert. Nr 3039

Third-party accreditation for passive fire protection installation under IFC Certification, audited by KIWA. Independently verifies that our installations meet tested system details and applicable British Standards.

Bring us in early.

The earlier we're involved in a project, the more value we can add. A specification review, a site survey, or a conversation about your programme: whichever helps most.
